tell your cat i say psps
the best lord of the rings thing ive seen is the headcanon that gimli is like Prince Tier of beauty for dwarves and is absolutely stunning and legolas is like, for an elf, absolute butt ugly like relatively and everyones always like gimli how could you marry such a shit tier ugly ass elf and gimli is like ach.. nae…i love him
(via manywinged)
acowar was the most painful read ive ever endured. sjm tried so hard to vilify tamlin but couldnt even do that properly so in the end we have his poor ass abandoned by his two closest people, betrayed by his lover, ridiculed by everyone for *reasons* and yet ending up doing the right thing every time. Meanwhile Rhys as the feminist studies graduate that he is continues to pat himself on the shoulder for acknowledging that women have agency. Legends say, he is still searching for the rest of his personality..if it ever existed. oh and Feyre. Feyre is a narcissistic bitch and being stuck with her pov is the worst form of torture. what a magnificent character development for your fmc, bravo Sarah. she became truly insufferable.
the little nessian bits tho, really kept me going✊🏻
so from what ive seen once sjm was done destroying and hating on tamlin in acomaf and acowar, in her silly little christmas special novella she straight up makes fun of his loneliness, misery and su*cidal tendencies? sends rhys to SC to gloat? this is so effed up, no way im ever picking up this novella. im seriously doubting this woman’s morals at this point. rhys and feyre are the absolute worst and the fact that they are her protagonists..says a lot to me about her own worldviews..YIKES
The king of Hybern picked his way through the remains of Rosehall. The once proud manor was now dilapidated and overgrown with weeds. The front doors had been ripped off their hinges, and part of the ceiling in the foyer had caved in and allowed debris from the outside to invade and pile up on the floor. He made his way unerringly to the throne room. An enormous beast lay prone in front of the dais. Its wolf-like jaw rested on its paws, green eyes staring vacantly at the wall. One of the antlers that adorned its head had snapped off.
“Look what they’ve done to you,” he murmured. The beast didn’t move. “You fought me, every step of the way, out of some misplaced sense of honor. And what do you have to show for it?”
Slowly, painfully, the beast raised its head to look at him. The king fought back a smile. The situation was delicate, and the High Lord was still powerful. He continued speaking, his voice a soothing melody. “They’ve all betrayed you, haven’t they? For hundreds of years, they’ve used your loyalty against you and then left. The Lord of Night slaughtered your family and then waged war on your land. That human woman lied to you in order to destabilize your rule and steal your secrets. Even your faithful emissary has left you.”
The beast’s eyes blazed at the mention of the Autumn Court brat. A matching surge of fury swelled in the king’s breast, and he fought it down. This was no time for petty emotions like jealousy. He was so close to success.
“Don’t you tire of these outdated notions of good and evil?” the king crooned. “Nobody else in this wretched kingdom adheres to them. You’ve fought for them long enough. Isn’t it time to fight for yourself? To seek vengeance against those who have deceived you?”
The king held his breath. This was the vital moment, where he found out if he had gone too far and ruined his entire plan before it had even begun. The beast unfolded its legs and rose to its feet. It approached the king, its mouth full of sharp teeth perfectly level with his throat. The metallic tang of magic filled the air, and the beasts form puddled and shifted into a bowed blonde man dressed in rags. The High Lord of Spring turned his gaunt face up to the king.
“Yes,” he said, voice hoarse from disuse. “Tell me how.”
Finally, the king allowed himself to grin. He tenderly cupped Tamlin’s cheek in his hand, thumb brushing against the perfect golden skin. “I already have.”I blame @copypastus, @thrumbolt, and @northern-star-polaris for infecting my brain with Tamlin/King of Hybern nonsense.
fandom is just as hypocritical as sjm is 👹
It’s so weird watching the internet enter into this period of major anti-consumer changes which will almost certainly give birth to new alternative sites that will become the new juggernauts of the internet, or some new age of consumerist horror never before seem.
Between the Tumblr porn ban, reddit blackout, Twitter’s implosion, TikTok threatening to be banned every other month, Netflix cutting off sharing, nothing seems stable anymore.
I’m just pack rat hoarding and copying down all the life-tips, artists names, resources, and shop names I love before it’s parent site inevitably falls into the abyss

Hi I was was wondering do you have any thoughts on Sylvain interest towards Shez wepon definitely when compared to Linhardt and possibly Hanneman lack of interest.
Oh!
As opposed to the GD shaft, Nopes really explored more on the BL gang!
It’s very interesting and in character with his “evolution” tbh, Sylvain resents his position as the crested heir and the importance of his crest - but also understands his crest (and his ability to use it!) is needed in Gautier because Gautier is a march and it needs protection from the Srengese raids.
So him being interested in Barney’s weapons - apparently super powerful like relics (which raises the question of wtf agarthans slaughtered lizards to make weapons if they could make weapons as powerful as lizard-made weapons??) - goes in his general arc, if people can become as powerful as crested people with a relic by using Barney’s weapons, it would alleviate the burden placed on crest bearers!
IIRC Sylvain also expresses interest in a firearm protoype iirc?
It’s again relative to his mindset of developing weapons that don’t need crests to use, and would be as efficient as Relics -
And we could link this to Rhea’s ban of “black water” extraction - for sure it gives everyone an access to “powerful” weapons, but is it really a good thing if you want a peaceful land?
(Which is also why I like the Nopes mention that fwiw, the Gautier “tried” to foster peace with Leif, the Srengese grandson of the guy Macul yeeted away, but in the end it doesn’t work that well and Clout adds Almyran oil on the fire)
Of course we will never know because Agartha is never developped what Barney’s weapons are, and if anyone, bar Barney, can use them or if they are “as strong” as relics lore-wise…
But it was a fun idea the writers gave us (
and obviously never developed)!Hanneman and Linhardt’s interest in crests is… not as practical, Lin wants to study for Science ! and Hanneman, despite his backstory (even if his endings mention progress and development of tech not needing crests?) is very elusive on the question - he is supposed to be the head honcho on crestology, but the one who was getting closer to “the truth” is a random monk who stopped researching and left a note in the Abyss rather than said head honcho…
So basically Sylvain looks at Shez weapon as a possible solution to fixing the issues he has experienced in his life and that’s how he gets inspired to basically make a magical Gun that anyone can use.
While Linhardt and Hanneman only look at Shez weapon as a possible subject of research but will move along if it doesn’t hold there interest definitely seeing that it dosent actually relate to crests aka what they mainly care about.
It also kind of shows off how the Empire still only really cares about Crests because of what they are and will diamiss other qualities, while the Kingdom interests is a more practice way of defense.
Well,
It’s almost as if the kingdom values crests because of the power boost, but the empire has a “crust system” to… Make a distinction between haves and haves not, even if they don’t give a fuck about what their crest do.

fanon beron is so interesting because everyone has different interpretations of his motivations and how he acts.
like in my hc his flavor of abuse is religious trauma, but there are so many different interpretations out there
I’ve written him as cut-throat since birth and encouraging that with his children. The re-write I’m doing has him as a traumatised child who never got over it so that’s why he is the way he is.
Re-reading the high lord meeting is so interesting though because he’s not really particularly bad? The actual times we SEE Beron in a scene rather than hear about his actions, he isn’t awful? This isn’t a Beron isn’t bad post, but actually most of the awfulness is all told by other characters.
UTM he is the first one to offer a drop of his magic I think and in the meeting he doesn’t want to go to war or accept spring’s refugees because he is protecting his court. He doesn’t want his sons to be the guinea pigs for the faebane antidote. He speaks about what happened to his wife and her sisters and holds onto her arm. He rightly reminds them that Rhys was on the enemy’s side for 50 years and Feyre gave Clare Beddor’s name in her stead.
Did you know that while he had his head between her legs, most of us were fighting to keep our families from becoming the nightly entertainment?
If Beron is so evil, why didn’t he join forces with Amarantha? Why was he fighting to keep his family safe utm?
Beron isn’t the one to incite violence - in fact, he is trying to save Eris from Azriel
‘As my lady said,’ Rhys drawled, ‘she does not need to explain herself to you.’
Beron leaned back in his chair. ‘Then I suppose I don’t need to explain my motivations, either.’
Cassian wonders if he was wrong for being a douchebag
